Great right out of the box, but I'm just not that kind of guy. I got this for my office desk for time management. The paint is a beautiful "fire truck" red and chrome twist bezel looks sturdy. The bezel is the "knob" you use to arm the timer.

Timer looks good and works well. I haven't timed the timer to see if its accurate but seems like it is. Atleast accurate enough for cooking. I don't remember if it came with instructions, but if it did I didn't read them. I'll share a tip, turn the timer all the way to the end and then back to the time you want otherwise the ring will be really short. This might be common knowledge for people that grew up using analog timers...
