This is a very nice dehydrator for the cost! You will be pleased with it. It's not loud and low watts compared to others but works great!

This is a nice dehydrater, easy to clean, lots of room, super quiet, very user friendly. HOWEVER, I bought this to mostly make Jerky. This only heats to 158 degrees and it is recommended to heat jerky up to 160 degrees. The booklet it comes with even tells you in a disclaimer, you need to either heat the meat up before you dehydrate it or put the jerky in the oven to ensure it is completely heated to kill bacteria. Disappointed, I will be returning this since I don't feel I need an extra step in making jerky, I will now look for a different model that heats over 158 degrees so I can make it all in the dehydrater and be done.

This little unit is a must-have for gardeners who don't want to fuss with canning and have limited freezer space. We dry all kinds of stuff....apples, carrots, zucchini, tomato, cucumbers (sliced and dried are great!), banana, all kinds of wild mushroom, beets. On and on. Then we just put it all up in canning jars, pop those in the oven on low heat (like 200 degrees low) with the lids loose. In about an hour take 'em out with a oven mit, tighten the lid, and in short order stuff is vacuum sealed. We've kept dried veggies like that for years and they stay fresh in the jars. The only thing we wish this unit had was more of the finer screens for the trays...you only get one. Otherwise this is a way better unit than those cylindrical ones...we went through 2 of those in two years as the bearings in the motor get damp and fail. This "oven" type is far better.
